Meditation
Mindfulness Meditation is a meditative technique in which a person becomes fully aware of thoughts and actions in the present moment. It is not a zoning out or even a conscious clearing of the mind; rather, Mindfulness is about focus.
Practitioners become aware of the continuous “chatter” of thought processes that keep us from engaging in the present. On a very basic level thought patterns are redirected from past events and future concerns, to the present, through breath technique. Research has shown that the practice of mindfulness can release you from worry, stress and anger by retraining how we process critical situations that arise in our daily lives.
Meditation is the process by which we go about deepening our attention and awareness, refining them and putting them to greater use in our lives.

Introduction to Meditation Workshop
The mindfulness of the breath is a fundamental Meditation practice. You’ll find that this practice helps to calm your mind so that there’s less inner chatter, what we would call wild-mind or “monkey-mind”. Clinical studies have found that the regular practice of meditation helps those experiencing chronic pain, depression and anxiety, as well as stress related illnesses and addiction problems.
This workshop will help you become mindful of the “busy-ness” of your thought patterns and learn to just sit…sigh…smile…and just breathe! As we sit and breathe together we learn from each others’ perspectives how to integrate meditation into our daily lives.
