Thai Massage Therapy

Traditional Thai Massage may very well be the most effective therapeutic bodywork you will ever experience. Thai Massage is a modern expression of a 2500 year old tradition of Oriental bodywork. Thai uses the whole body to treat the whole body.

Thai massage is more energizing and rigorous than more classic forms of massage. The therapist uses his or her hands, knees, legs, and feet to move you into a series of yoga-like stretches. Thai massage is varied to suit a wide range of physical needs and is often used as a form of physical therapy to help increase range of motion and muscular strength.

Thai Massage works with the body’s movement potential and energy system and is practiced dynamically on a mat on the floor. This allows for movements that are not as effective, or not possible, on a traditional massage table. Thai massage has proven particularly helpful to persons who suffer from a wide range of illnesses including Multiple Sclerosis and Fibromyalgia. Dragonfly is proud to be an official service provider of the Gateway Area Chapter of the National MS Society.

Our therapists are highly trained and well practiced in the art of Thai Massage. The average Thai massage will last 90-120 minutes, although alternative time frames are available.

During an herbal sauna the toxins that were released and broken up during the massage are then steamed out of the body and the muscles further relaxed.

This balance allows cleansing and clearing of toxins which have accumulated. The joints and muscular connections are moved into a free open range that promotes general wellness.

Karuna Reiki brings a further balancing and harmony to the whole self. This balance moves through the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual energy fields to radiate a relaxing glow. The whole person relaxes into a feeling of well being. Imagine four hands moving and gently easing you into this relaxed state.
